As part of a Cincinnati-based marketing and communications agency, one of my “jobs” is to find and share interesting articles/tidbits/posts that we can use for our Rasor Marketing Communications social media efforts.
Since I love all things to do with autumn and Halloween, I found and forwarded this link to our social media expert and esteemed colleague, Erika Turan. Here is an excerpt from our email exchange:

What about this? Nationally-recognized haunted house right here in Cinci. I’ve never heard of it until this year and supposedly it’s actually haunted and was an actual schoolhouse.
Erika, I think you should go and check it out… Dent Schoolhouse

Oh sweet Johnny Appleseed. Hell NO! You couldn’t get me to drive past that thing, let alone go into it. I heard a radio station giving tickets away to that place this morning, and my thoughts were exactly this (I kid you not):
“I bet Libby would like that. Because she likes to be scared. I wish more things were just spooky. Like that little haunted room they make at the back of Graeter’s in October. But even that has some skeletons and icky things. I wish all of it was like the Haunted Mansion at Disney World. Just with goofy ghosts and stuff.”
Libby – I’ll look for your blog explaining your experience at this place. 🙂

Interestingly, as much as I like scary things/movies/etc. I HATE haunted houses! I prefer the comfort of being on the other, safe side of a movie screen, TV or book page so no thanks! And yes, I agree re: spooky things and the Haunted Mansion at Disney- that is perfection.
Now, I don’t like gratuitous gore, so slasher films are out. I don’t like to be touched or have things jump out at me, so haunted houses and haunted hayrides are also out. No, I prefer to be scared in the relative comfort and familiarity of my own home (or neighborhood movie theatre).
