Lauren Reed, Public Works Intern

A junior at Ohio University, Lauren joined Rasor in 2022 as an intern. She is pursuing a bachelor’s in journalism with a specialization in strategic communication in addition to a marketing minor and social media certificate. As an active member of Scripps Public Relations Student Society of America, she served as the Vice President of Finance and Co-leader of the Special Events Committee. She also led event planning for the Bateman Case Study Competition, which was a contest to design a campaign for the Lymphoma Research Foundation. Additionally, she held an internship at a healthcare nonprofit in 2021 where she helped conduct research and enter data.

Lauren loves to learn about and get involved in different types of communication. She is excited to apply her communication skills and learn more of the ins and outs of public relations with the amazing Rasor team. When she’s not working, you can find Lauren watching long video essays on YouTube or experimenting in the kitchen.

When did you know you wanted to work in communications?

I would be the friend who organized every event and sent out surveys to determine which movie we would watch.

When it comes on the radio, which song do you have to turn up really loud?

Some Nights by Fun! It was also my first song on my iPod.
