Christa Skiles, Senior Account Executive

Christa Skiles brings more than 20 years of experience to her role as a senior account executive at Rasor Marketing Communications, providing strategic counsel, message development, writing services and marketing plan implementation to clients that include the City of Mason and KZF Design. She is also a member of the agency’s public works team, supporting the transportation improvement districts of Montgomery, Clermont and Warren counties in Ohio and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Christa began her career at Cincinnati’s then-largest public relations agency, Dan Pinger Public Relations, before moving into the nonprofit arts sector, where she spent 14 years at the Tony Award-winning Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. As the theatre’s public relations director and later associate director of marketing and communications, she helped set overall strategies for branding, institutional messaging, direct marketing, advertising, digital/social media, public relations, customer service and patron engagement.

Christa’s professional work also includes serving as the assistant director of communications for the Cleveland Museum of Art, where she executed media relations locally, regionally and nationally for the museum’s special exhibitions, performing arts and film series, educational programs and multi-phase renovation and expansion. Prior to that role, she handled internal communications at Kent State University and patient communications at Alliance Primary Care.

Christa is a summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Miami University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communication with a minor in political science. She’s also a proud alumna of the Walt Disney World College Program. In her spare time, she’s most likely found in a theatre or with her nose stuck in a book.

 

FUN FACTS

Where have you traveled that you’d like to return to?

Definitely England. I spent several days in London more than a decade ago, but I didn’t have the opportunity to venture to Bath or Stratford-upon-Avon. As a fan of both Jane Austen and William Shakespeare, I keep these sites and others on my travel bucket list.

What was your favorite book as a kid?

Pretty much whatever I was currently reading! In elementary school, my favorite days were always those when our class visited the library or the Bookmobile came calling. Particular titles I still remember are Bunnicula, the story of a vampire rabbit who sucked vegetables for their juices; The Kidnapping of Courtney Van Allen and What’s-Her-Name, about a girl who’s inadvertently kidnapped alongside her much more famous and wealthy friend; and From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, because who wouldn’t want to set up house at the Metropolitan Museum of Art?

What do you enjoy about working with clients? 

I love the fact that every client has a unique story to share. It’s a privilege when clients allow us to help them tell those stories. Plus, there’s something new to learn every day.
